Together,
Giovanni and Mira continued to move the logs and restack them near the furnace
while it went to work heating the house. Soon Giovanni retrieved Abraham from
the living room and delivered him onto Mira’s examining table. Mira worked long
and diligently to treat Abraham while Giovanni maintained a healing touch.
Abraham’s body was cold, dehydrated, and aching. Mira gave him something for
the pain and started an I.V. to nourish and hydrate his body. She massaged his
aching muscles and joints while Giovanni worked to warm him up and keep him
warm.
