Eternal
Curse: Giovanni’s Angel chapter 6
Mira’s work consisted of taking scrapings of
Giovanni’s skin and tongue, clippings of his hair and nails, and many other
samples, as well as drawing blood with much difficulty. Every time Mira
approached Giovanni’s body, he seemed to tense up in a way that Mira had never
seen before. His body reacted by becoming defensive. It was almost as though
Giovanni had to give Mira permission before she was able to gather samples from
his body. The surface of his skin seemed to change in texture, becoming denser,
and his veins appeared to be hiding or blending in with their surrounding
tissue.
Mira’s work was slowed by what she thought
were mechanical and electrical difficulties with the lab equipment. Many times
the sensors would sound off or display fatal readings for Giovanni while he was
being examined.
